There are many different air fryers out there, but which one is right for you? Sometimes it’s best to compare models from different brands, but other times it’s best to compare different models from the same brand. Today our Cosori Air Fryer Max XL vs Pro XL review is going to compare two of the best Cosori air fryer models on the market to see which is best for you.
Our Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL vs Max XL review will compare these two models based on functions, size, power, any other differences we can find, and their overall reviews. The Pro XL is the newer of the two, but is it better?
Read on to find out.
What is the Cosori Air Fryer Max XL?
Also known as the Pro I Cosori, this is a large air fryer built for the family. Not only can it cook enough for 3-5 people, but it also offers numerous presets so you can quickly cook everyday dishes. From frozen food and chicken to steak and fries, you can simply push a button and the fryer will be ready to cook.
This powerful air fryer is at the perfect price for what it offers, it has a great capacity, tremendous power, and it’s simple to use. Cosori is perhaps one of the best all arounder air fryers that you can get.
What is the Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL?
Also called the Cosori Pro II air fryer, this is an updated version of the Max XL. It looks very similar and has many of the same features, such as the same presets and a wonderful touchscreen.
The biggest difference, aside from a better overall design, is that it comes with smartphone and voice integration. This gives you more control over the air fryer even if you’re not in the kitchen. Despite all the upgrades, the price is only slightly higher. If you’re already considering a Cosori, then let our Cosori Pro I vs Pro II review show you why the Pro II XL is the better choice overall.
What Others are Saying
Cosori stands as one of the most popular air fryer brands on Amazon. While it’s always good to form your own opinion, it’s helpful to see what others are saying. This gives you a glimpse of how the air fryer works in the hands of everyday cooks.
The Cosori Air Fryer Max XL Amazon reviews and the Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL Amazon reviews are virtually identical. Both of these have a very high 4.7 rating with over 76,000 happy reviews. It’s rare to find products that are so beloved on Amazon, but both of these are above the standard.
The reviews all focus on how these air fryers are fast, efficient, work better than expected, and how they are simple to use. While some users had a hard time figuring out how to make the WiFi and voice commands work for the Pro XL at first, the learning curve is fairly low. You should be able to learn all this within a few minutes.
In terms of popular opinion, we would say that both are tied. They have a lot of love online and it’s easy to see why. They work better than expected, are at the right price, and fit perfectly on your kitchen counter.
Like most modern kitchen appliances, both of these come with many different features to ensure that you can cook your meals perfectly with ease. While some brands focus on making the air fryer act radically different (such as Ninja and Instant giving you a broiler function), Cosori instead gives you many presets.
These set the time, temp, and other settings so that they are perfect for common proteins and dishes. This makes it very easy to cook common meals. The functions here are very similar, but they aren’t quite identical. Let’s check them out and see which is best.
Cosori Pro I Max XL Functions
The Cosori Max XL gives you 13 total functions. This includes 11 presets along with preheat and keep warm functions. The total list includes:
- Frozen Food
- Root Vegetables
- Keep Warm
This should be enough to cook most of your daily meals. If you want to cook something that’s not on the list, then the manual settings are easy enough to work with.
Cosori Pro II XL Functions
The Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL has very similar functions, but they are a little different. You can get 12 total functions. This includes 10 presets and the preheat and keep warm functions. The total list includes:
- Frozen Food
- Keep Warm
Surprisingly enough, the newer model removed one preset and made some other changes. Let’s go into the next section to see if this weakens the air fryer or not.
Comparing the Functions
At first glance, you might be wondering what the real differences are here. Pro II doesn’t include the root vegetable setting. Honestly, the regular vegetable setting is already ideal for root vegetables, so this isn’t a big loss.
The Pro I has bread and dessert presets while the Pro II has toast and bake. Despite their different names, they function nearly the same. The Pro II is a tiny bit more versatile, but this is basically a tie between them in terms of functions.
Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL vs Max XL: Power
You might feel tempted to skip this section. Most people don’t realize how important power is when comparing air fryers. An air fryer might look great on paper, but having a low power rating can really hold it back. This can result in the appliance having a hard time holding consistent temperature along with difficulty crisping food.
The good news is that both of these air fryers have very good power ratings. In fact, they are identical in this sense. We would say that any air fryer less than 1000W won’t be able to properly crisp food, and you don’t get really good food unless you pick 1500W or more.
Both of these exceed expectations and are rated at 1700W. This ensures that you get really crispy food with far less fat than with a traditional fryer. It’s also easier to clean. As an added benefit, the Pro XL has a shake reminder that lets you know when to shake food to ensure more even cooking.
Cosori Air Fryer Max XL vs Pro XL: Size
While a small air fryer might be good for some people, most people get air fryers either for the whole family or to meal prep. Regardless of how you want to use an air fryer, we found that Cosori makes some of the best sizes around.
You always want to make sure that the air fryer is the right capacity for you. Getting a massive air fryer might sound good, but it often costs too much and takes up too much space (unless you’re cooking for a large family or hosting parties).
Our Cosori Max XL vs Pro XL found that both of these models are ideal for 3-5 people as they are both 5.8qt. This allows you to fry several pounds of fries or chicken tenders in one batch. You can deliver hot, crispy food that the whole family will enjoy in just minutes.
Not only that, but Cosori air fryers are the perfect form factor. They have a relatively small footprint when compared to similarly sized air fryers. This means that you can make food for many people without crowding your countertop.
What is the Difference Between Cosori Air Fryer Max XL and Pro XL?
Curious about what is the difference between Cosori Air Fryer Pro XL and Max XL? It seems like they are almost identical when you look at their size, power, and functions, but there are actually many differences when we looked at other factors.

The Cosori Pro II, the Pro XL, has phone and voice support. You can control the air fryer through the Cosori app, and it will tell you when your food is done. Both Alexa and Google Assistant can connect to the air fryer. This allows you to control it with voice commands if you are anywhere else in the house, which is incredibly convenient.
The Pro II also has a better touchscreen. It feels better when you touch it, and it looks better as well. The Pro I Max XL is also great, but you can see why the Pro XL is the upgrade.
Both of these are amazing, but which one is better in our Cosori Pro II vs Pro I review? They are nearly identical, but Pro XL has more features and a better design. If there price were dramatically different, then we’d say the Max XL is good for those who want to save some money while the Pro XL is good for those who want WiFi and voice command.
However, the price is nearly identical. Pro XL is more expensive, but only by a little. We highly recommend the Pro XL Cosori because it offers many fantastic features and cooks enough for the whole family.
